Kent and East Sussex Railway
These days the K&ESR / Kent and East Sussex Railway is a heritage railway that runs on part of the original route of the historic Kent and East Sussex Railway and has a mixture of steam and diesel trains, some static ones to just look at, but many that you can pay to go on. The trip I took was with friends back in 2014 and we had a cream tea on the train, which is a really nice experience and they do others such as fish and chips on the train, but you need to book in advance for these things, if you just turn up then you will be disappointed. They also have special days out with Thomas the Tank Engine. There are five stations along the route, which are Tenterden Town, Rolvenden, Wittersham Road, Northiam, Bodiam. An all day pass for the trains cost £18 for adults and £12 for children (2018 prices).
