Hastings Old Town Carnival 2013
Photos of the Grand Carnival Procession in Hastings
Every year in the Old Town part of Hastings in East Sussex they have a Carnival Week which ends with the Grand Carnival Procession. I have been to watch many times, but it 2013 I was lucky enough to be invited by the lovely people from Substance (which is an amazing, if rather weird (in a good way!) shop in Hastings) to come along and be on top of their float . . . well when I say float, the Substance float kind of went very well with their shop! They have an amazing military APC Armoured Personnel Carrier painted matt black with red logos all over it. To add to the fun a lot of the people on and around it were dressed up as zombies (myself included).
I did take photos of some of the other floats, dancers, drummers, the RNLI lifeboat, plus the crowd watching the grand procession parade too. It was great fun being in the parade, the only other time I have done that was as part of Section 5 Drummers. Hopefully one day I will get to take part again, but with my health problems I need to be on a float, not walking the route on foot. If you have a float and would allow me to come along on that float to help out and take lots of photos then please get in touch, I’d really appreciate it! I hope you enjoy these photos of the Hastings Old Town Grand Carnival Procession, please have a look around the site to find lots more photos of all kinds of events and so much more!
