Gay Pride: Mind Opened Wide Poem

Gay Pride: Mind opened wide

Go to Gay Pride, Mind opened wide.
Interesting sights, Some transvestites.
Party is free, Just go and see.
Not all the same, Life's not a game.
We all can feel, Equality is real.
Open your mind, See what you find.
Gay bi or straight, Don't turn up late.

About this poem

Almost every year I go to Gay Pride in Brighton, its a really great day out. The event was created for any Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual or Transgender people, plus many straight people also go to show support for the people they know who are LGBT. In an ideal world there would be no need for events like Pride, as everybody would be accepted and everybody Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered or just Straight would all be treated as equals.

Sadly one line is now wrong, Brighton Pride have now started charging for entry to the event in the park, BUT the parade is still free to watch and there is always lots of fun free stuff going on around Brighton! 8o)

Update:
Hastings has had a launch party in 2016 to start the preparations for a proper Brighton Gay Pride style event in 2017, I played a small part in organising the 2016 event, but hopefully will get even more involved with the 2017 one!!! :)

Newer update:
In 2017 I attended both Hastings and Eastbourne Prides, both were really great!!! My photos of Gay Pride events
