Midsummer Nights Dream At Battle Abbey

We had a really great time watching William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream being performed by Chapterhouse Theatre Company at the beautiful English Heritage property Battle Abbey on the 9th of June 2018. The photos are mostly from the first half as the light was slowly fading the later it got and I prefer natural light than using the flash. It was a great show and I highly recommend you catching this show while Chapterhouse Theatre Company are touring around the country with it if you can. The performance was very good, especially being a Shakespeare play with only 8 people playing 20 characters, plus there were some very complicated lines! The story is rather complicated too and almost belongs on an episode of Jeremy Kyle! lol Almost everybody is in love, but most not with the people they are supposed to love, but thanks to some plant based drugs things get rather strange and things sort themselves out in the end. Yes, unlike his other Shakespeare plays like Othello, Romeo and Juliet etc. it doesn't all end in death, which is nice for a change!

The cast were: Jason Baird, Gareth Cary, Eleanor Faye, Lottie Goodchild, Rebecca Hare, Josephne Kook-Clark, Zachary Price and Melissa Stanton.

I wasn't there is any official capacity, purely at the show with my family, but wherever I go my camera is never far away! :)
